(WUSA) -- Several events around our area this weekend may force you to find alternate routes. Here are some of the closings:

Saturday

Red Bull Sound Clash

Pennsylvania Avenue @ 4th Street, NW
The following streets will be closed from 8pm Friday, October 29 until 5am Sunday, October 31:

  • 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
  • 300 block of Constitution Avenue, NW

    Rally To Restore Sanity

    National Mall between 3rd & 7th Streets
    The following streets will be closed beginning at 6am Saturday, October 30. They are expected to be back open by that night at 6pm:

  • 3rd Street - from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 4th Street - from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • Maryland Avenue, SW - from 3rd Street to Independence Avenue
  • Constitution Avenue, NW - from 4th Street to 6th Street
  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW - from 4th Street to 6thStreet
  • Madison and Jefferson Drives from 3rd Street to 7th Street

    Howard University Homecoming Parade

    The following streets will close at 10am and should be back open by 1pm:

  • North on 6th Street to Fairmont Street, NW
  • West on Fairmont Street to Georgia Avenue, NW
  • South on Georgia Avenue to Florida Avenue, NW
  • Southeast on Florida Avenue to 5th Street, NW
  • North on 5th Street to T Street, NW
  • East on T Street to Anna Cooper Circle, NW
  • Southeast around the circle to 3rd Street, NW
  • North on 3rd Street to Elm Street, NW
  • East on Elm Street to 2nd Street, NW
  • North on 2nd Street to Bryant Street, NW
  • West on Bryant Street to 4th Street, NW
  • North on 4th Street to the Valley (where parade will disband)

    Sunday

    U.S. Marine Corps Marathon

    The race begins at 8am in Arlington, then crosses the Potomac River into DC. Several streets in DC will close starting at 4am. Those streets are expected to be back open by 1:30pm:

  • Canal Road, NW - from M Street to Reservoir Road
  • Reservoir Road, NW - from MacArthur Boulevard to Canal Road
  • MacArthur Boulevard - from Foxhall Road to Reservoir Road
  • Foxhall Road, NW - from Canal Road to MacArthur Boulevard
  • M Street, NW - from Canal Road to Wisconsin Avenue
  • Wisconsin Avenue, NW - from M Street to K Street
  • K Street, NW - from Wisconsin Avenue to Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway
  • Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway, NW - from K Street to Independence Avenue
  • Memorial Bridge
  • West Potomac Park
  • East Potomac Park (access to Golf Course and Tennis Courts available)
  • Maine Avenue, SW - from East Basin Drive to Independence Avenue

  • Jefferson Drive, SW - from 3rd Street to 15th Street
  • 14th Street, SW - from Jefferson Drive to Northbound HOV lanes
  • HOV lanes - from 14th Street, SW to HOV ramp at South Eads Street


    In Arlington, you can expect these street closures:

    From 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • Eastbound Washington Boulevard closed at I-395

    From 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Route 110 completely closed in both directions
  • N. Meade Street, from Fairfax Drive to Marshall Drive
  • No access to N. Lynn Street or N. Meade Street from Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard)
  • N. Lynn Street, from Route 50 to N. 19th Street
  • Ft. Myer Drive, from N. 19th Street to Route 50
  • N. Moore Street, from N. 19th Street to Wilson Boulevard (except for buses)

    From 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • Wilson Boulevard east of N. Nash Street

    From 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.:

  • Westbound Washington Boulevard from Memorial Circle to I-395
    From 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.:
  • Eastbound Lee Highway, from N. Kirkwood Road to N. Lynn Street
  • Westbound Lee Highway, from N. Scott Street to N. Kirkwood Road (Closed to thru traffic. Local traffic will have access by taking N. Scott Street to N. Veitch Street. Citizens leaving the area can use westbound Lee Highway to Spout Run Drive and exit the area via the George Washington Parkway.)

    From 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.:

  • The Key Bridge, all lanes

    From 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • Southbound I-395 HOV from D.C

    From 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • S. 12th Street, from S. Eads Street to Crystal Drive (local traffic permitted S. Eads Street to Army Navy Drive)
  • Crystal Drive, closed from S.12th Street to S. 23rd Street
  • Rotary Road closed throughout South parking
  • Columbia Pike closed at S. Joyce Street (access to Pentagon via Boundary Channel)

    From 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

  • Army Navy Drive, from Fern Street to 12th Street S.

    SATURDAY & SUNDAY FOR HALLOWEEN IN GEORGETOWN:

  • FROM DDOT: Residents and visitors -- access to many side streets in Georgetown will be restricted on Halloween night, Sunday, October 31, in addition to the restrictions for Saturday, October 30 that were previously announced.


    Although there are no plans at this time to close major roads including M Street and Wisconsin Avenue, there will be parking restrictions and limited access to neighborhood streets for residents and employees only.


    Parking Restrictions

    No-Parking restrictions will be in effect along the following routes from 3 pm on Saturday, October 30 to 6 am on Sunday, October 31, and again from 3 pm on Sunday, October 31 to 6 am on Monday, November 1:

  • K Street, NW from 30th Street to Wisconsin Avenue
  • Water Street, NW from 32rd Street west to the Capital Crescent Trail
  • 1000-1300 Blocks of Wisconsin Avenue, NW
  • M Street, NW from 25th Street to the Key Bridge
  • 1100 block of 26th Street, NW
    Road Closures
    The following streets will be closed to through traffic from 5:30 pm on Saturday, October 30 until 4 am on Sunday, October 31, and again on Halloween night from 5:30 pm on Sunday, October 31 to 4 am on Monday, November 1:
  • 3300-3400 blocks of Cady's Alley NW (Residents only)
  • 1000 Block of Grace Street NW (Residents only)
  • 3200 Block of Cecil Place NW (Residents Only)
  • 3100 Block of South Street NW (Employees and Residents only)
  • 3100 Block of Oak Alley NW (Residents and Employees only)
  • 3100 Block of Blues Alley (Residents and Employees only)
  • 1200-1500 blocks of 27th Street (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1200-1500 blocks of 28th Street (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1000-1500 blocks of 29th Street (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1000-1500 blocks of 30th Street (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1000-1500 blocks of 31st Street (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1000 Block of Thomas Jefferson Street NW (Employees and Residents Only)
  • 1200-1600 blocks of 33rd Street (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1200-1700 blocks of 34th Street NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 3200-3600 blocks of Prospect St. NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 2700-2900 blocks of Olive St. NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 2700 block of Poplar Lane NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 2700-3600 blocks of N St NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 2600-3100 blocks of Dumbarton St NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 2600-3600 blocks of O St NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 2600-3100 blocks of P Street NW (Residents and Employees Only)
  • 1500 blocks of 32nd Street (Residents and Employees Only


    Only residents and employees of businesses within these areas will be granted access. Additional streets may be closed and/or opened at the direction of the 2nd District Commander or his designee. Drivers must present proof of residency or work identification to access the closed streets.
