May 4th, 2012 Government, Industry and Academic Sectors (GIAS) meeting 12 noon to 8:00pm

BAE Systems sponsor 

• How do we encourage students’ (K-12) interest in STEM?
• Identify programs that government and industry offer K-12 students
• Organize government and industry programs for the students
• Mentor college students to graduate with a STEM major

After the GIAS meet during the day BAE Systems will host the evening reception for the GIAS to set up a round table discussion with the students and parents to ask them about careers in STEMS and program at their organizations. We fill this will be a good opportunity to have our GIAS partners to be mentors to our students.

May 5th, 2012 Youth Summit 7:30am to 4:00pm

The conference kicks-off with a Mix and Mingle Continental Breakfast and the opportunity for students to visit the Exhibit Hall with our partners.  The students will attend two workshops on STEM careers and the parents workshops are: Countdown to College and Partnering with Federal Agencies for Jobs, Scholarships and Internships.  For the last five years the U.S. Department Of Defense has sponsored the luncheon and provided the keynote speaker.  The afternoon is composed of competitions: Computer Building and the Jeopardy Game with each member of the winning teams receiving a laptop computer.  The conference will end with a performance by the Morgan State University National Society of Black Engineers Collegiate Chapter
