Get Ready to STOMP...In a Georgetown Grocery Store?

This Thursday, January 13 at 6:30 p.m., get ready to STOMP...in a Georgetown grocery store.

Georgetown’s “Social” Safeway, located at 1855 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, will host certain members of the STOMP cast(who will perform at the Warner Theatre later this month) for a special mini-performance.

The cast members of the world-famous show will "play the store", calling on various grocery items as their instruments.

All are welcome and photography is permitted.  On top of the free performance, those 21 and over will be able to take part in a wine and cheese tasting at the wine bar that will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m..

Search Party Volunteers Needed this Sunday for Missing Dog

In October 2010, life seemed to be turning around for a 90-pound English Mastiff named Olivia.  Rescued by A Forever Home Foundation (AFH), it seemed apparent that she was fought, bred, and abused in her prior home, leaving her terrified of most human interaction.  AFH foster mother Laura Colleton recalls that “her biggest challenge is that…everything in the outside world is new and scary to her. I have never cared for a more needy, vulnerable dog.”

The following event was sent to us by Patricia Nugent:

The Jefferson, Washington, DC will host its second annual New Years Eve Celebration at Quill, the hotel’s elegant cocktail lounge, on Dec. 31, 2010 from 10 p.m.–2 a.m. Guests will enjoy an evening of expertly crafted cocktails featuring Chopin Vodka and will toast the New Year with Krug Champagne.

Quill’s terrace will feature a complimentary Mulled Wine station and will be the perfect spot for cigars and cognac to keep warm in the cool night air. Inside, tempting libations by Quill’s expert team of mixologists will add to the evening’s festivities while musician Peter Robinson will perform throughout the evening on Quill’s piano.  At midnight, guests will be invited onto the terrace to watch as bottles of Champagne are cut open simultaneously by saber to ring in the New Year.
