Kennedy Center Announces American Humor Award Recipient

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The Kennedy Center is proud to present this year's Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to television icon and entertainment pioneer, Ellen DeGeneres.

The Prize is awarded annually to great humorists, and has been given to the likes of Bill Cosby, Tina Fey, and Will Ferrell.

The 15th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor ceremony will take place on October 22, 2012 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.

ATM officials announced today that the 28th annual race shattered all previous race registration records for both the priority and general registrations. The highly anticipated race will take place on Sunday, Oct. 21 in Washington, DC at the U.S. Pentagon.

Evans Calls for Additional Commission on Arts & Humanities Funding

 

From Kevin Stogner: Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans, Chair of the Committee on Finance & Revenue, today moved a budget report renewing his calls for additional funding for the District’s Commission on Arts & Humanities as well as direct grants to a number of individual arts organizations.
