WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - The Washington Humane Society (WHS) is giving potential adopters a chance to name their own adoption fee for all cats age 6 months or older from Wednesday, August 1, through Sunday, August 5.
With an extremely high volume of cats during this summer "kitten season," when huge numbers of kittens arrive weekly, WHS is calling on the community to help save lives by adopting a cat (or even two cats) in need, and as an incentive, you can choose what you'd like to pay to bring your feline(s) home.
Hundreds of cats are seeking their forever homes, including those in the attached photos: Gidget, Sicily, Simba, Sylvester and Tweetie (those two are so bonded, they're hoping to be adopted together)
Adoption counselors will answer questions, and all the usual matchmaking procedures will remain in effect to ensure the animals find the best homes possible, and that their adoptive owners will be happy and satisfied.
