Foster Cat: Bermuda

Foster Cat: Bermuda

Today we introduce you to another great animal in our foster program, Bermuda. Bermuda is currently under the care of our foster volunteer Yolanda Thomas. We are asking for your help to find Bermuda a loving home this week. Please share her story and photos with your friends, families, and communities. We are thrilled to report that in just the last four days, after reaching out to our incredible WHS family, nearly 100 cats and kittens have left our shelter through foster, transfer, and adoption. This just goes to show that together we can make a difference and save more lives! Please help Bermuda and more WHS animals this week!

Foster A Cat Month

Foster A Cat Month

The Washington Humane Society (WHS) works hard to find homes for every animal in our care. As the open-access shelter in DC, we take in an average of 30 animals every day into our often already full and busy adoption centers. One of the most vital services our volunteers can provide is foster care to animals awaiting their forever homes. By providing a place for cats or dogs to stay, along with a little TLC, foster caregivers fulfill a critical component of our life-saving work, and allow us to make room for more animals who need our special care and attention.

Hugo
Hugo, a star contestant in the recent Best in Shelter competition, found his forever family this week! Hugo had been recovering under the foster care of one of our amazing volunteers after he came to WHS with major medical issues. While we may not have won the contest, he is the biggest winner in our book. This is the best happy ending we could ask for!

Asia
Active Doga and PACK (People & Animal Cardio Klub) participant Asia found a forever home at a recent adoption event held at Rock Creek Sports Club! Her new pet parent is Michelle DeLucia, General Manager of the Club. A perfect match!

Velvet
“I adopted my cat, Velvet, from the DC animal shelter one week ago today. I'm so glad I did! She is a treasure.”
